Paul Green shoes online

Paul Green was founded in Munich about 40 years ago and ever since the brand has stood for exclusivity, quality and contemporary style. Women’s shoes by Paul Green reflect the latest trends and at the same time are extremely comfortable to wear. This is thanks to the materials used to make them, which are carefully selected. These include various types of fine leathers, such as nubuck and nappa leather, which are not only supple, but also very hard-wearing. Sneakers, sandals, ankle boots and ballerinas are only some of the wide range of women’s shoes in the Paul Green product line. They are also available in the most diverse colours, including some gaudy colours like red and royal blue, or in natural shades of brown and olive green as well as in pastel colours like mint green and soft pink. There is such a wide variety that it offers something for every taste. Another advantage of Paul Green women's shoes is that they can be worn for many seasons to come, thanks to their thoughtful design as well as the care taken during manufacturing.

About the Paul Green brand

The origins of Paul Green GmbH can be traced back to the shoemaker Josef Haselberger, who founded his master shoemaker's workshop in 1921. He named his first women's shoes "Elisabeth" and dedicated them to the heir to the British throne, who became Queen Elizabeth II of England in 1953. A shoe factory with the same name was built near Mattsee in 1961. This two-storey building of roughly 3,500 square metres now houses a museum, the "Ferdinand Porsche fahr(T)raum". In 1971, a new factory was built in Mattighofen. At this time, the company was employing 250 people and had a turnover of about 100 million schillings. After a change of ownership and management in 1980, the market launch of Paul Green women's shoes in 1988 was carried out by Hermann Wittfeld in Munich. The brand name was his neologism, there was nobody actually called Paul Green. In 2008, with the support of the province of Salzburg, the company moved to a new modern factory on the northern shores of Mattsee, close to the border of Upper Austria.

Second factory in Croatia since 2013

Paul Green invested five million euros to construct a new factory in Prelog, Croatia. By the middle of July production had already started there with 50 employees. The employee numbers in Prelog are expected to increase to 150.

Generation change 2022

From 1 January 2022, Barbara Aichinger (Sales, Marketing), Jürgen Posch (Production), Torsten Tesche (Product Development) and Peter Wastl (Organisation) joined the management team and they will lead the company together in the future. The new managing directors have actually been with the company for many years. Paul Green GmbH currently employs 500 people in Mattsee and Prelog. In addition, about 1,500 people work for Paul Green at its production partners. The company is 100 percent privately owned.

What sets Paul Green shoes apart

Paul Green produces shoes for life and stands for the highest quality, which is evident in their excellent fit, quality workmanship, premium materials and sporty but elegant design. Paul Green shoes are handmade from selected raw materials. Each shoe is a precious one-of-a-kind.

100 percent made in Europe

The manufacturing is 100% European: all products are made exclusively in Austria, Croatia and Bosnia. Paul Green took the conscious decision not to outsource production to low-wage countries. Instead, it opted for short transport routes and transparency among its suppliers. As well, 90 percent of the materials used are purchased within Europe, primarily from Italy.

Female empowerment

75 percent of the Paul Green workforce are women. True to the motto "My shoe, my way", the focus is on women who are finding their own way in a complex world and stepping out confidently. Each woman is different, acts differently and dresses differently. Shoes play a significant role in highlighting a woman’s individual style. Shoes by Paul Green are made to tell this story.

Green by name and green by nature: How sustainable is Paul Green?

The brand believes that its customers will only prosper when it is good to the environment. If we pull together, we can make life better for everyone.

Striving for more sustainability

Fundamental to Paul Green's sustainability concept are regionality and quality. Short transport routes from suppliers are a matter of course for a company that sources and manufactures exclusively in Europe. In addition, 90 percent of the materials used are sourced within the continent, especially from Italy.

Quality materials last long

Paul Green manufactures shoes that have a long life, thanks to precise and high-quality production. This represents the second key factor for sustainable production by Paul Green, in addition to regionality. Efforts are further made to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible. Sustainability is understood as a constant endeavour to improve.

Green headquarters building

The company’s headquarters in Mattsee in Austria is energy and resource efficient: a 500 kWp photovoltaic system on the green flat roof covers 140% of the site's electricity needs with solar power. Around the Paul Green headquarters there is a 1,000 m² meadow of wildflowers, providing a valuable habitat for bees and other animals. In addition, the company fleet is being converted to electric vehicles.

Sustainability certification

LWG certified 80% of the leather Paul Green processes comes from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group. Our aim is to source our leather exclusively from LWG-certified companies in the medium term.

PFI ecolabel

Paul Green was awarded this label by the PFI research institute based in Pirmasens, Germany. It is the leading independent testing institute for the footwear industry. Our processed materials were subjected to stringent chemical, physical, biotechnological and microbiological testing before they allowed us to carry the label. In addition, binding environmental standards for supply chains and waste disposal, labour protection and social standards must be complied with.

The most popular Paul Green shoes

The Paul Green product lines strongly in demand are sporty but elegant sneakers, boots and ankle boots. However, the assortment is very wide, ranging from pumps and ballerinas to sandals and lambskin-lined winter boots.

Sneakers

Originally designed for leisure, sneakers for women are probably the most comfortable and uncomplicated shoes of all. You can combine sneakers in many ways, they are robust and go with almost any style. They feature prominently in Paul Green collections, because they are appreciated by many trend-conscious women for their wearing comfort and contemporary design. Important for sensitive feet: individual, orthopaedic insoles can be worn in many of Paul Green’s sneakers. Always at the forefront of international shoe fashion, the label keeps coming up with fresh models. Sometimes sporty, often playful, essentially feminine, perhaps eye-catching: the options are certainly diverse. Paul Green constantly picks up on the latest trends, from vintage to biker looks, and always keeps its finger on the pulse of fashion. However, first-class workmanship is an abiding feature of women's sneakers by Paul Green. Made from selected, hard-wearing materials, such as supple nubuck leather and light textiles, their perfect fit ensures that you will enjoy your sneakers for a long time.

Boots

Paul Green set itself a challenge to produce women's boots that are not only optimally insulated for warmth and ventilation, but are also remarkably comfortable to wear. Their design is always of utmost importance as well. Made of the finest leathers, ranging from smooth to nubuck or nappa, the look of Paul Green boots in every collection is unmistakably elegant and internationally sought after. Whether with a flat or high heel, plain or adorned with metal buckles, eyelets or decorative stitching, there is an ankle boot to suit every style. Some models are also distinguished by especially warm linings such as merino wool, or by their flexibly adjustable shaft widths. Paul Green thus gives its discerning customers the opportunity to find boots that fully meet their own taste and the comfort requirements of their feet.

Ankle boots

Every fashion-conscious lady wants to get through the cold season in comfort. Ankle boots by Paul Green hit a sweet spot between loafers and boots and the optimum choice for leisure, work or even special occasions — whether you prefer casual, sporty or an elegant style. Decades of experience in manufacturing by Paul Green has resulted in shoes that easily meet the highest demands. With a snug fit, made from the finest materials such as nubuck or nappa leather with precise workmanship that guarantee every single shoe will fully impress its wearer. Paul Green women's ankle boots are always in tune with the latest fashion trends. This means it's no problem to find a model to suit every weather and any outfit. While some models are made with thinner and airier materials, there are also warm, fur-lined ankle boots in every new collection. The wide range of designs, colours and materials offered by Paul Green ankle boots ensures that even discerning women will find what they are looking for.

Pumps

Pumps are shoes that are never out of place. Paul Green presents numerous new forms of heel for fashion-conscious women in its current collection. The look leaves nothing to be desired: From plain black and brown models to pumps in pastel shades and shoes decorated with intricate elements such as studs, bows and other extras, there is something to suit every style. As pumps tend to place a lot of strain on the foot, comfort is highly important, because wearing shoes is only a pleasure if they are fit well and feel good. When making pumps, Paul Green attaches great importance to a snug fit, supple materials and their secure hold. This makes every single model a popular and long-lasting companion.

Ballerinas

Ballerinas have become one of the most popular women's shoe styles of all, because they are both uncomplicated and comfortable. The Paul Green range of trendy models can be discovered in many new ways: Sometimes sporty but elegant in smooth leather, softly feminine in pastel shades, or perhaps playful with elegant flower and bow appliqués — the variety of design, shape and colour leaves nothing to be desired. Paul Green's innovative creations are not only visually impressive, its ballerinas are also very comfortable to wear. As Paul Green only uses the finest materials, such as nubuck or suede leather, maximum wearing comfort is guaranteed. Whether for everyday wear, in the office or for festive occasions, stylish ballerinas by Paul Green are an attractive companion for every fashion-conscious woman.

Sandals

Most ladies agree that there is nothing more comfortable for your feet in summer than airy and lightweight sandals. Paul Green has dedicated itself to the art of creating women’s sandals that make fans of their customers in terms of both comfort and appearance. Even discerning wearers will be thrilled by the models in the current Paul Green collection. Made from the finest materials with intricate details, such as studs and bow appliqués, and available in pastel, bright or even natural colours, Paul Green sandals are a perfect match for every outfit. Thanks to precision workmanship and flexible fit the sandals make you feel good on all occasions: whether during your free time, at work, or at a formal event.

Winter boots

When it's stormy and there’s snow on the ground, your footwear has to meet particularly high standards. Fashion-conscious ladies know that it's the workmanship that counts. Most importantly, they look for cosy and softly lined shoes that reliably keep the feet warm and keep out the wet, wind and cold. Winter boots by Paul Green fulfil this need precisely. They are usually lined with exclusive inserts, such as teddy fleece or lambskin, which insulate perfectly. Paul Green linings of animal origin consist of 100% mulesing-free wool from sheep sheared at certified Portuguese farms, which is also natural and undyed. At the same time, innovative technologies in the manufacturing process ensure that the boots are optimally ventilated and any moisture that accumulates can easily escape. Winter boots by Paul Green are the ideal companion for sub-zero temperatures.
