The slim, rounded last gives the shoe a really elegant, preppy look and doesn't make it look like a heavy, chunky boot. This is a plain classic model, and that is precisely why a lot can go wrong with the design. The slightest mistake will throw the shoe off balance. That's why we fiddled with it quite a bit. When the boot was finished, I couldn't resist giving it a little extra love after all. Shoes just love that. They lie extra happy in their box then."
